When I come to think of it, Friday is my favorite day of the week. Although I still have to go to work, the fact that I am free after 5PM for next two days creates an almost magical feeling. And as if that is not enough to indicate the end of the week (hurray!), we always have a need to mark it as special. And it usually is – grub!

miso-soup Since yesterday I didn’t come straight home from work, there was no time to play in the kitchen and make some of our little miracles. What to eat that is especially delicious, as we became accustomed to on Fridays? Answer: a meal from Jin Jang macrobiotic kitchen. About a month ago I ran onto their Facebook page and I was delighted! Every week another menu, the selection of foods, desserts… With, of course, inevitable miso soup. I made a mental note to myself to order something from there as soon as possible. Not only was I curious to try their food, I also had a huge desire to support them as something rare and unusual in Serbia.

main-dishWhen we eat, we don’t joke around. So we ordered a whole Jin Jang Maxi (2x). We got two delicious miso soups, one with shiitake mushrooms and vegetables and other with tofu and vegetables. When we opened the box with the main dish, the smell of it almost swept us of our feet. Millet with vegetables, lentils with Brussels sprouts, steamed chard, daikon cut into strips, barbecued seitan… Yummy! In the end, pumpkin pie. Since this was our first order from them, we got one complementary dessert – cake with homemade plum jam.

For little over than 5 years of macrobiotics, we may have become a little less hard-core and sometimes more vegan and gourmet. But the meals from the Jin Jang macrobiotic kitchen are fully by macrobiotic “rules“. Nothing too salty, nothing too sweet… just the right amount. Congratulations for the idea! We wish them good luck in their future work, and we will certainly continue to support them, by eating delicious meals that they prepare! 🙂

Kad bolje razmislim, mislim da mi je petak omiljeni dan u nedelji. Iako i dalje moram na posao, činjenica da sam od 17h slobodna naredna dva dana stvara neki gotovo magični osećaj. I kao da nije dovoljno što označava kraj radne nedelje (juuuupi!), uvek imamo potrebu da ga nekako posebno obeležimo. I to najčešće bude – klopa!

miso-soupPošto juče nisam došla pravo kući sa posla, nije bilo vremena za igranje u kuhinji i spremanje nekog našeg malenog čuda. Šta onda pojesti, a da je posebno i ukusno kako smo sebe navikli petkom? Odgovor: obrok iz Jin Jang makrobiotičke kuhinjice. Ima oko mesec dana kada sam naletela na njihovu stranu na Facebooku i oduševila sam se! Svake nedelje drugi jelovnik, izbor namirnica, dezerta… Naravno, uz neizbežnu miso supu. Zacrtala sam sebi da ćemo što pre da naručimo nešto od njih, jer, pored toga što sam bila znatiželjna da probamo, imala sam ogromnu želju da ih podržim, kao nešto retko i nesvakidašnje u Srbiji.

main-dishMi kad jedemo, mi se ne zezamo. Tako smo naručili ceo Jin Jang Maxi (2x). Dobili smo dve ukusne miso supe, jednu sa šitakama i povrćem, drugu sa tofuom i povrćem. Kada smo otvorili kutiju sa glavnim obrokom, miris nas je umalo oborio sa nogu. Proso sa povrćem, sočivo sa prokulicama, barena blitva, dajkon sečen na rezance i ražnjići od sejtana… Mljac! I za kraj, pita od bundeve. Kako smo prvi put naručivali kod njih, dobili smo gratis još 1 dezert – tortu sa domaćim džemom od šljiva.

Za 5 i kusur godina makrobiotike, mi smo možda postali malo manje hard core i ponekada više vegan i gurman. Ali zato su obroci iz Jin Jang makrobiotičke kuhinjice bili u potpunosti po PS-u. Ništa preslano, preslatko… sve kako treba. Svaka čast na ideji! Želimo im puno sreće u daljem radu, a mi ćemo ih svakako i dalje podržavati, klopajući ukusne obroke koji oni spremaju! 🙂

        So many people always declare that they could never go vegetarian without even trying it. Even just one meatless meat per week is a step in the right direction!
