On some days, not too often, I simply have a need to be lazy. Being aware that something needs to be done, nevertheless I still keep on delaying as much as possible and finally, when I get around doing it, I complete it in the smallest possible amount of time, so that I can do something else. That was the case on Sunday, when I rather spent a few hours painting my nails and browsing the Internet, than in the kitchen preparing lunch.
When it started getting late and my stomach reminded me that it wasn’t lazy and would like something “to do”, the challenge was to figure out what can be prepared quickly. And so this is what I came up with:
Grains that cook quickly – millet! Around 10 minutes or so. I sautéed the frozen vegetables mixture (red peppers and leek, bamboo, black mushrooms, carrots, onion and pea pods), added mashed tofu, cooked millet, ground peanuts, spices and it was done! While serving, I added a couple of olives for garnish and to taste, and so I was able to continue with Sunday chilling.

Ima dana, ne previše često, kada jednostavno imam potrebu da budem lenja. Znam da nešto treba da se uradi, ali sam u stanju da to odlažem što je moguće više i da ga na kraju, kada se i latim, zbrzam za što kraće vreme, kako bih mogla da radim druge stvari. Tako je bio slučaj u nedelju, kada sam umesto da provedem nekoliko sati u kuhinji, spremajući ručak, lakirala nokte i surfovala po netu.
Kada je vrag već odneo šalu i pošto me je stomak podsetio da on nije lenj i da bi rado nešto „radio“, izazov je bio smisliti šta se može spremiti brzo. I tako je nastalo ovo:
Žitarica koja se brzo kuva – proso! Gotovo za 10-ak minuta. Na maslinovom ulju sam propržila kinesku mešavinu, dodala izgnječeni tofu, proso, malo samlevenog kikirikija i začine i gotovo! Pri sipanju, dodala sam koju maslinu za ukras i ukus i tako sam mogla posle da nastavim sa nedeljnim gluvarenjem.

It really was tasty. I like tofu, because it is so versatile and quick to prepare meal with it. In a few minutes, you can have a yummy scramble, dip or dressing 🙂
