Round, green, sort of sweet and very satisfying… it can be only peas!
At the times when I was getting bored with drinking fruit smoothies every day, my husband suggested we try putting just veggies and making soups. Like pea soup, for example.
I was both eager and scared to try. I love peas so much, that even just water after cooking it with a little salt and dill is super tasty to me. But raw peas sounded like completely different matter altogether. Reassured with success of raw corn soup (soon on blog, too), it was time to give it a go.
Initially, I planned to make carrot soup that night, but it was getting quite late, so I switched to frozen peas (around 700 grams). Still afraid to push our blender to its limits, first I defrosted peas under the tap, strained it well and off in the blender it went! Then 100 grams of soaked pumpkin seeds, 1.5 teaspoon of Himalayan salt and dried dill according to taste.
It turned out a little chunky, probably you can get it smoother if blend longer, but we didn’t mind. For decoration, some hemp seeds and voilà – easy peasy green soup to enjoy! 🙂
Of course an easy peasy soup is filled with peas! 😀

🙂 It is a given. Since then I just thaw frozen peas for a few minutes under tap and it’s ready for a salad, too 🙂

I always keep frozen peas handy to add to dishes, but it never occurred to me to thaw them under the tap! I’ll have to keep that in mind. 🙂

Hands down, it is the quickest way to do it, especially if you are not going to cook them (like in our case)
